What is this?

Through dance, storytelling and creative practice, Jackie has discovered a an affinity for tuning into subtle energies and the deep-unconscious. Jackie's love for this aspect of art-making and storytelling led them to explore the re-creation of ritual, and learn in the space of Somatic and Embodied practices. This opened up through-roads for weaving together the creative, embodied and subtle fabrics of story in a process that is safe, autonomous, and centred around strengthening and grounding through story and attuning to our senses.

This journey does not come without a story of loss. This is a response to the banning of Cultural practices and Ceremonies through colonisation, and the white washing of embodied and spiritual practices that were once a sacred and practical framework for re-connecting and invigorating community. Jackie sees an opportunity to use art, Somatics and storytelling as a vehicle for reclaiming and reviving this space from white exotic mysticism into real, practical, safe and sacred happenings. A co-devised space where intention, accountability, reverence and value-systems converge. 

Indigenous, Bla(c)k and PoC people who are interested are encouraged to get involved.

The first event will be a discussion group around reclaiming spiritual development spaces back into the hands of peoples and communities that have been and are at risk of continued social and systemic harm, and who are looking to co-create a community outside of white appropriation.
